Hey, I'm Acyr Locatelli (ah-see-er).

I lead the foundations team at Cohere.

Research

My research interests are pretty broad. Outside base models, I'm interested in:

  • Small language models.
  • The intersection between theorem provers, LLMs, and reasoning.
  • Understanding data complexity.
  • Curriculum learning.

    • I contribute to research projects at CohereForAI as well.

    Previously

  • Research engineer where I tackled the problem of sound event detection for edge devices.
  • Quantitative Analyst at an investment bank.
  • Software Engineer doing a mix of R&D and reverse engineering.
  • PhD student under the supervision of GK Sankaran and JH Davenport. I worked on computational real algebraic geometry where I studied geometric properties of cylindrical algebraic decompositions.
